·       Make Sure Your Guests Are Comfortable

After a long day of celebrating, your guests will appreciate a comfortable place to rest. Make sure you have plenty of seating and pillows for everyone to relax.

·       Keep The Food and Drinks Coming

Your guests will still be hungry after the wedding, so have plenty of food and drinks available. If you’ll have an after-party at a different location, provide transportation so your guests can get there safely.

·       Keep The Music Going

The party doesn’t have to end when the wedding does. Keep the music and the dancing going at your after-party.

·       Have Fun and Make It a Night to Remember

Does Your Venue Allow Your Vendors to Work Freely? Find Out Today!

Your wedding venue plays a significant role in your wedding day. It’s the backdrop for all your photos and can be the difference between a smooth-running day and a stressful one.

Ask your venue about their policies on vendors before you book them or sign contracts. Asking these questions ahead of time will help ensure that your wedding day goes off without a hitch!

·       When to Set Up?

Are vendors allowed to set up before the event? You must know this to ensure everything is ready and going according to schedule.

·       Any Restrictions?

Does the venue have any restrictions on what types of vendors can be used? For example, some venues may only allow caterers who they approve.

·       What About the Clean Up?

How long do vendors have to clean up after the event? Ask this so you’ll be sure everything will be taken care of and there aren’t any surprises.

Your wedding vendors are an essential part of your big day. They help make your vision a reality and provide valuable services that you and your guests will appreciate. Find a venue that allows them to work freely to do their best work for you.

If you were a vendor, you wouldn’t want to be restricted in what you can do or who you can work with on your big day, no? The Orchard View Wedding and Event Center has no problem working with professional vendors. Our policies won’t hinder them in any way. So, they’re more than welcome to help us make your big day an event to remember!

We’re an award-winning, elegant wedding and event venue in Ontario, helping couples like you celebrate weddings and create memories that will last forever.

Here Is the Timeline You Need Six Months Before Your Wedding

It’s six months to go until your wedding day, and you’re probably feeling the pressure to get everything sorted. But don’t worry, as always, we’re here to help! Here’s a timeline of everything you need to do in the lead-up to your big day!

Six Months Before

·       Set Your Budget and Start Saving

This is probably the most important thing to do in the lead-up to your wedding. Work out how much you can realistically afford to spend and start putting money aside each month.

·       Book Your Venue

Once you have a budget in place, it’s time to start looking for venues. Book sooner rather than later if you’re set on a particular location, as popular spots get booked up fast!

·       Start Looking for Your Dream Dress

It’s never too early to start dress shopping! Begin by browsing online and in magazines to get an idea of the style you’re after. Then, make appointments at a few bridal stores to try on some gowns.

·       Send Out ‘Save The Dates’

Once you have your venue booked, it’s time to let your guests know when and where the big day will be taking place. Send out ‘save the dates’ six months in advance so that everyone can clear their calendars.

Three Months Before

·       Book Your Photographer

One of the most important vendors you’ll need to book is your photographer. First, do your research and choose someone whose style you love.

Then, make sure to book them well in advance as, just like your wedding venue, they tend to get booked up fast.

·       Choose Your Bridal Party

Another big decision you’ll need to make is who will be standing by your side on your big day. Choose your bridesmaids and groomsmen carefully, picking people you know will support you through the wedding planning process.

·       Start Working on Your Guest List

This is probably one of the most challenging parts of wedding planning! Start by making a list of everyone you would like to invite, then start whittling it down based on budget and venue capacity.

One Month Before

·       Finalize The Details

In the final month before your wedding, it’s time to start tying up loose ends. Confirm your guest list, finalize the menu, and ensure all of your vendors have the correct information.

·       Start Packing for Your Honeymoon

Don’t leave packing for your honeymoon until the last minute! Start gathering items you’ll need a few weeks in advance so that you’re not scrambling at the last minute.

·       Get Organized

You’ll need to start getting organized in the final month, so everything runs smoothly on the big day. Make a timeline of events and start delegating tasks to your bridal party or family members.

Two Weeks Before

·       Have A Rehearsal Dinner

A few days before the wedding, gather your closest family and friends for a rehearsal dinner. This is a chance to relax and spend time with your loved ones before the big day.

·       Get Your Marriage License

Don’t forget to apply for your marriage license! You’ll need to do this at least two weeks before the wedding, so take care of it in advance. However, this might differ from state to state.

·       Relax and Enjoy the Final Days

Before the wedding, try to relax and enjoy the build-up in the last few days. Spend time with your family and friends, and savor every moment leading up to your big day.

While planning your wedding half a year before might seem a bit unnecessary, it’s a great idea. We always advise the couples who come to book our venue to start making plans long before the big day. But when they see our wedding venue, most of them say they don’t mind having the wedding right there and then!

Why do they say that? Because the Orchard View Wedding and Event Center is one of the most beautiful wedding venues you’ll ever see. You’ll find us adding beauty and elegance to weddings in Ontario.

Whether you want to celebrate a spring, summer, autumn, or winter wedding, we have everything you’ll need at our wedding venue. You won’t lack anything to make your big day unique, from modern amenities to stunning grounds and breathtaking scenery.

Few venues can boast about having bridges, local wildlife, and exotic herbs; fewer even have a tranquil lake and views of a majestic waterfall. Yet, we have all and so much more.

Choose between The Terrace, The Grandview, or The Lakeview; each offers an entirely different experience, but you’ll love what you see and appreciate how they make you feel.

You deserve nothing but the best on your wedding day, and our venue will make sure you get that. Click here to contact us today!

3 Wedding Venues and How to Choose Yours

Congratulations on your engagement! We don’t need to tell you how important your wedding is. It’s a day when you celebrate your love for each other before your family and friends. And it’s a day when you get to dress up and look your absolute best!

But before you start thinking about your wedding dress, you must choose a venue! Your venue will set the tone for your entire wedding day, so choose wisely.

There are three main types of wedding venues: traditional, modern, and rustic. Each type has its unique benefits and drawbacks. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide which type of venue is right for you!

·       Traditional

Traditional venues are typically churches or banquet halls. They’re perfect for couples who want a classic, formal wedding. But they can be expensive, and they may not be available on your preferred date.

·       Modern

Modern venues are less traditional, and they can be anything from art galleries to rooftops. So, if you’re looking for something unique, a modern venue is probably your best bet. But keep in mind that they’re often more expensive than traditional venues.

·       Rustic

Rustic venues are perfect for couples who want a relaxed, informal wedding. Barns, vineyards, and parks are all popular rustic wedding locations. Just make sure you’re prepared for the weather if you choose an outdoor location!

Start looking at specific venues once you’ve decided on a general style for your wedding. Once you’ve found a few that you like, narrow down your choices. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you compare venues:

·       Capacity

How many people do you want to be able to accommodate? Make sure the venue can comfortably accommodate all your guests.

·       Location

Is the venue conveniently located for your guests? If not, they may be less likely to attend.

·       Budget

How much are you willing to spend on your venue? Keep in mind that pricier doesn’t always mean better. Sometimes, the most affordable option is also the best option.

·       Availability

Does the venue have your preferred date available? If not, you may need to be flexible with your wedding date.

Once you’ve considered these factors, you’ll know which wedding venue is right for you. So, get out there and start looking! The perfect venue is out there waiting for you; then again, you may have already found it!

Orchard View Wedding and Event Center was built and designed to accommodate any wedding. We’ve hosted lovely weddings for modern couples and decorated our venue to align with the vintage theme many other couples asked for.

Orchard View Wedding and Event Center does not cater to any specific theme or style; it will make you happy regardless of how you want to celebrate your big day.

How Should I Arrange the Tables for Dinner at My Wedding Venue?

When choosing your wedding venue, ensure you consider how you will arrange the tables for dinner. There are a few different options to consider when setting up your tables, and each one has its pros and cons.

However, we listed out simple steps you can take to arrange your tables to be both beautiful and make the wedding venue even more unique!

·       A Long Table at the Center

One option is to use a long table that runs through the center of your venue, with guests seated on either side.

This can create a formal atmosphere and make it easy for everyone to talk to each other. However, there may not be enough space for all of your guests if there are many.

·       Small Tables in Many Areas

Another option is to set up smaller round or square tables in various areas around the space. This creates more intimate settings where guests can get to know each other better, but it might be difficult to chat with others at each table.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you and depends on your preferences and the size of your wedding party. Whatever option you choose, be sure to discuss it with your venue manager ahead of time, so they can help set things up in a way that works well.

No matter what choice you make, remember that this is your special day, and everything should be done to make it perfect! Good luck as you plan your wedding venue arrangements.

Orchard View Wedding and Event Center, a gorgeous wedding venue built at the heart of the Canadian countryside, is quite literally the perfect place to celebrate your wedding!

Our venue offers you more than 20,000 square feet of space with beautiful indoor features, structures, and modern amenities to ensure a thoroughly delightful stay.

Vendor Spotlight - All My Tomorrows

It’s a new month, which means a new vendor to introduce to all you happy couples! We always want nothing but the best for our couples, so we always work with exceptional wedding vendors like All My Tomorrows!

They are a professional celebrant and wedding officiant for Ottawa and surrounding areas, and it’s always a pleasure to have them unite couples at our wedding venue.

We welcome All My Tomorrows to this week’s edition of our vendor spotlight series. They’re one of our favorite wedding vendors to work with, and if you’re wondering why, you’ll find out today!

·       Who Owns this Prestigious Company?

Her name is Rev. Evelyn Hope, a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant, wedding officiant, and easily one of the friendliest people we know.

We know much about Evelyn and her capabilities, mainly because she worked as a coordinator at our venue, the Orchard View Wedding and Event Center.

She went to school to become a wedding officiant, so rest assured you’re booking a trained professional who has extensive knowledge about what entails the success of a wedding or event.

Evelyn takes a unique approach to every wedding she officiates. She builds on her clients’ ideas, merging cultural and religious customs and using a modern twist to create something truly unique.

She believes that since all couples are different, it only stands to reason each ceremony will be different. Every wedding should reflect the couples and tell their love story. She excels at helping couples do that!

·       What Makes Evelyn the Best Choice for My Wedding?

Oh, there are so many reasons why we recommend her services. For one, Evelyn’s been working in the industry since she was  just 19 years old, so she has considerable experience under her belt.

And for Evelyn, it’s not just about officiating at a wedding; she always goes the extra mile to ensure a couple’s wedding experience is something they’ll never forget. Your wedding is your tale of love, and she’ll help you tell it in the loveliest of ways!

Evelyn will sit with you, talk to you, learn about you, and understand what you want your wedding to be like. She’s passionate about what she does, so hiring her means you have a certified wedding expert and someone who’ll look for the most beautiful way to celebrate your wedding.

Evelyn is LGBTQ+ friendly, too, which further consolidates her belief that love is at the heart of everything. Everyone deserves to be happy and choose who they want to spend the rest of their life with.

What are your wedding dreams? What ideas do you have? She’ll ask you all this, and the answers will give her what she needs to create a one-of-a-kind ceremony that’s unique to you and you alone!

·       What Are Services Like, and Does She Only Officiate at Weddings?

She’s a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant (LCC) and wedding officiant, and has been a wedding planner with more than 200 successfully planned weddings to her name.

In addition to all this, Evelyn offers other excellent services like paper signing, elopement, vow renewal, rehearsal, and wedding ceremony.

Each service comes with perks designed to ensure you derive maximum value for your budget. But if you want the complete celebrant experience, we recommend you go for the Wedding Ceremony.

You can contact Evelyn here and book a meeting with her via Calendly; your first contact! Then, you can ask her more detailed questions about what she offers and know whether she’s the perfect officiant for you.

Since we have worked closely with Evelyn, we can assure you that booking her to officiate at your wedding is one of the best decisions you can make for your big day.

Have you booked a wedding venue yet? Evelyn knows the inner workings of Orchard View Wedding and Event Center, a gorgeous venue in Ontario, and can assure you we would love to fill that role!

When you come to Orchard View, expect breathtaking scenery and an ambiance you won’t find anywhere else. We’re not bragging; this is simply a fact.

There’s so much variety awaiting you here. You can choose between The Terrace, The Lakeview, or the Grandview for your big day. Each venue is unique, meaning there’s something new to experience regardless of which you pick!

Click here to contact us and learn about our packages and what else we can do for you. Congratulations on your engagement once more, and we would love nothing more than to help make your wedding the best day of your life; our venue will do that for you!

How Do You Distribute Tasks Between Your Wedding Vendors?

When it comes to your wedding, there are many moving parts. And even if you hire a wedding planner to help with the logistics, it’s important to understand how tasks will be distributed among your various vendors. So, here’s a quick rundown of who will be responsible for what on your big day!

Photographer: Mitch Lenet Weddings

·       The Venue

The venue will be responsible for setting up the ceremony and reception spaces and providing any necessary furniture and decor.

·       The Catering Company

The catering company or team of caterers will handle all food and beverage services, from set-up to clean-up.

·       The Florist

The wedding florist creates all floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception and delivers them to the venue.

·       The Photographer

Your team of professional wedding photographers will capture your big day’s memories, from the getting ready moments to the last dance.

·       The Videographer

This is a professional who creates a video record of your wedding day, from the ceremony to the reception.

·       The DJ Or Band

Of course, the DJ company or band will provide music for the ceremony and reception and help with any audio/visual needs.

·       The Officiant

Last but not least, the officiant will preside over the ceremony and help you with any paperwork required for marriage licenses.

Of course, this is just a general overview of who will be responsible for what on your wedding day. Be sure to discuss specific tasks and expectations with each of your vendors before the big day so that everyone is on the same page. And don’t forget to enjoy your wedding day!

5 Ways to Mention Your Wedding Venue in Your Invitation Card

When you mention your wedding venue in your invitation card, it helps to set the tone and atmosphere for your big day. There are many fun and unique ways to incorporate your venue into your invitation card, and here are five of our favorite ones!

·       Use Descriptive Language

When describing your wedding venue, be as specific as possible. Mentioning the venue’s name is not enough – try to include some key details that will give your guests a better idea of what to expect.

For example, if you’re getting married at a historic mansion, mention its beautiful gardens or grand ballroom.

·       Include A Photo

A picture is worth a thousand words – so including a photo of your wedding venue on your invitation card can be extremely helpful in getting your guests excited about your big day.

If you don’t have a professional photo of the venue, snap a quick pic with your smartphone and include it on the card.

·       Use Directions

If your wedding venue is located in an unfamiliar area, consider including directions on your invitation card. Doing this will help your guests find the venue easily and without trouble on the big day.

·       Provide A Website Link

Including a link to your wedding venue’s website on your invitation card is great to give your guests even more information about the location. They can explore the site and better understand what to expect on your big day.

·       Give A Brief History

Finally, if your wedding venue has a lot of history, give your guests a quick rundown on the card. For example, you could tell when the venue was built or list the famous events held there in the past.

Your guests will thus appreciate the location more and make your big day even more special!

These tips will help ensure that your wedding venue is mentioned in your invitation card in the best possible way. This will set the tone for your big day and get your guests even more excited about the event.

Congratulations on getting engaged, and how soon is your wedding? Orchard View Wedding and Event Center is easily the best wedding venue resting in the Canadian countryside.

Our venue is perfect for your spring, summer, fall, or winter wedding because it was designed to accommodate festivities in any season.

And when we say you’ll experience breathtaking scenery unlike anything you’ve ever seen, stunning manicured grounds, and a professional team of experts, we are not exaggerating! You’ll love what our venue can do for your wedding. Click here to contact us today!
